Meeting with the Filipino Community in the United Arab Emirates

“You are the source of pride and honor of our country,” expressed President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. when he met with the Filipino community in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) during a gathering in the capital city of Abu Dhabi.

As the second home to a million overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), the UAE has long benefited from the vital role Filipinos have played in its journey as a nation since 1971, helping it achieve growth and development.

In his keynote message, the President stated he envisions a future where every Filipino, whether at home or abroad, has an opportunity to succeed. That is why the Administration is laying the foundation for more employment opportunities across various sectors and expanding market access for Filipino businesses through stronger trade and investment partnerships with the UAE.

“So to sustain this momentum, let us prioritize lifelong learning and skills development. ‘Yan po ang susi ngayon dahil marami pong dumarating na mga bagong teknolohiya ay hindi po – kailangan tayo matuto, kailangan patuloy ang pag-aaral natin para lahat ng kahit na anong bagong dumadating na bagong trabaho ay tayo ay handa,” he added.

The President assured his countrymen that the government would keep strengthening programs that promote progress and development nationwide, ultimately fulfilling his vision of a Bagong Pilipinas.

“So in closing, I express once again my deepest gratitude, not only of myself, but of all your countrymen, for your unwavering spirit and dedication, and the pride and love that you have shown for your countrymen and for your country. Your achievements bring honor to the nation, a nation that is truly and genuinely proud and grateful to all of you,” President Marcos Jr. ended his speech.
